More sleep with SleptOn?

Imagine if you will, a divorced dad of 2 grown up children, working in IT who know works at home like many of his peers but also has to travel now and then. Sounds fine right? Now add in to the mix his past lifestyle the habits; think divorce, sharing the kids time, flying/ driving to meetings, poor / rushed diet, crazy work hours, no routine - you get the picture. These habits have made sleep a real problem for this guy... lets call him Patrick. Yep, thats me.
What I am trying to say here was that poor sleep wasnt someting that suddenly happened to me, although Ive always had a tendency to stay up late rather than wake early. Not sleeping was a gradual bad health condition that I wasnt really aware of. I'd brush it off in my head as, a bit groggy from the wine, or just tired as Ive not had enough coffee, or my fitness aint what it used to be as I'm getting older etc, etc.
Truth is that it was the other way round. Poor sleep was affecting my health/weight, my work, drinking habits, reltionships with people, mood ... in fact my whole being!
I'm not saying now I have magically cured myself and everything is golden and I wake up and spring in to life and skip round the house whilst the birds sing and the sun radiates through the window....no. What I have done though s woken myself up to the problem and Ive done something about it.
Thats why I've started Slepton a collection of ideas, links, supplements, references, sponsors, sleep tools etc with the sincere hope it can help you too, as I know how dibilitating poor sleep can be.
I'll try and keep this blog going so you can see what I've been doing and what's worked. If I am honest though I am not a creature of regimented diary keeping (yet) - and that's probably another reason I am a poor sleeper maybe!
Thanks for reading/ visiting. Hope you can get some rest!
Patrick
